Prior to your arrival in Canada, you will be sent a Welcome Package that will include your Intake & Assessment appointment and Guidance appointment date and times. It is recommended that all new students plan to arrive a minimum of 48 hours prior to their Intake & Assessment Appointment. If you arrive late, the student may be deferred to the following year/semester. During your Intake & Assessment appointment you will meet with International Student staff to confirm that you have provided all necessary documents for registration at your home school.
Following your Intake Appointment, your English (ESL Level Placement) and math skills will be assessed by a teacher in a one-on-one consultation. Placement in academic courses at the secondary level will be based on the results of this consultation and your most recent report card. Secondary appointments take approximately 3 – 5 hours and Elementary appointments take approximately 1 – 3 hours. Students will receive breaks as required.
